last quarter, my roommate drank this juice from a bottle that was shipped to him from who knows where.

for some reason, i had chosen to not really look into what he was drinking or why. i actually only remember one thing about that juice, and that is what it is made from, noni.

now, don't be ashamed if you don't know about noni. i was pretty ignorant to the tree and all that it did.

let's get caught up. CLICK HERE TO LEARN ABOUT THE NONI

for some odd reason, i remember one day of my senior year in which i went into mrs. fether's room to discuss a few things for campus ministry. somehow, we got off on a tangent of healthy food and i remember her saying something about a fruit that had all these vitamins and crazy good health benefits. she couldn't think of a name at the time, but i have a feeling the noni is what she was talking about.

next up, the ACAI(pronounced asa'i)

this little bad boy is pretty much just as crazy as the noni.

i have one question; why aren't these plants more prevalent within american awareness?

they sound like they have immense benefits(cancer, stop inflammation, reduce stress related disorders)

with the rise of green tea over the last 2 years, it would seem like the advertising of the these plants would be shoved down our throats

maybe they can't produce enough

maybe there is a conspiracy(movie plot, anyone?)

if anyone tried these products before, please let me know. i'm quite interested

i shall be visiting the grocery store soon

A PERFECT DAY FOR SALINGER STORIES.

just came across THIS....and wow....i haven't seen so many of j.d. salinger's stories together in one place in a long long time

i'm almost positive a lot of these stories can no longer be printed per salinger's own wishes

in fact, last i knew, salinger was still alive and quite the hermit

to find out the generalized information on j.d CLICK HERE

i haven't read many pieces by him, but i'm working on that

sophomore english was where it all started

so lots and lots of hard work has been happening at andenken recently.

i've been involved in setting up shows before, but none has been so labor intensive.

the current show is for the tenants.

lots of incredible work being made within the walls on market street.

i had written that in my little idea book a while back after hearing it in M.I.A.'s song PULL UP THE PEOPLE

pat, your piece:

(click for enlargement)

this little baby has come together after about 13 hours of work.

everything on pat and the whole hand/arm/finger were hand drawn, while the background just has a filter on it.

it's so weird, i haven't actually seen pat in about 3 months and i'm already sick of his face.

ah, the candy of life

sometimes it is just nice to do some things that don't take too much thinking and are just plain enjoyable.

i just had a nice discussion with a friend about the pleasantries of sitting around doing nothing.

some days it is just needed.

first off, will the snow ever stop.

i came out of my early class to see it pouring snow. it has since slowed, but i want a 60 degree day.

i'm telling you, global cooling is real!

been drawing
(for self pleasure and class):

1. the spooky/creepy piece

i plan on making a whole bunch of copies and writing random phrases in her box then leaving them in the gallery

on the original, i think i'm going to write the lyrics to the song "I Think We're Alone Now"

i've still need to finish the background and darken her shading

2. animal piece

had to go to bass pro shops for my observational drawing course

drew 3 pieces. this is the buffalo bison(thanks pat!)

though i really prefer to watch serious films, every once in a while i need, what i call, a candy film.

just like enjoyable sugar that isn't needed, but still is nice.

the upcoming sugar i want to see(trailers in links):

THE VALET

OCEAN'S THIRTEEN

looks interesting (but much more serious):

TRADE

watched:

thoroughly enjoyed BEFORE SUNRISE

not exactly what i would call incredible, though great in its own way

quite original

next up:

hitchcock's REAR WINDOW

almodóvar's THE BAD EDUCATION

theatres:

initially missed HALF-NELSON

i've really been wanting to see it and it came out on dvd today

ryan gosling is nominated for best actor for this film and is supposed to be great

with the nomination, it is returning to some theaters

oh the tides are a changin'

i've been so sick lately. trying to get over that hump while not being completely bedridden. lots of vitamins and anything else that seems like it might help are being taken all the time.

last night i was up until 4 working on homeworking. psh psh to all those people who said procrastination wasn't an art form. anyways, i did 3 images for digital manipulation. sadly, after i thought i checked my alarm clock twice, i somehow didn't arise at my usual 6:30....it was more like 11:30....which is bad.

the 3 "postcards":

clouds, one of my yoga poses, christmas candy cane art

clouds, flower photo from 1st quarter, my eye

horrible job on pat's....absolutely messed up everything. try to make him a body out of clouds

original one, looks better but worse idea for design

pat, this is the photo of you, emily, and summer from homecoming

went to see THE LIVES OF OTHERS:

something unusual happened....i thoroughly enjoyed it. made me think. great for discussion......but i haven't thought about it since then.....which i don't think is a good thing....or maybe it is.

i've been trying to weigh it against PAN'S LABYRINTH and i'm not sure that is fair. both play with heavy subjects(though the trailer for pan's doesn't show this) and heavy many emotional undercurrents.

i haven't seen the other films nominated for best foreign feature but i'd like to.

the rest of my list:

AFTER THE WEDDING

WATER

DAYS OF GLORY

madre, this is the mcdreamy they refer to:

i don't really see it

can't wait GRIND HOUSE

can't wait

GRIND HOUSE

remember that film F FOR FAKE that i watched far too often...orsen welles....film about elmyr de hory and a small story on picasso....anyway, it has a thing about clifford irving.....the man who conned america on some howard hughes business....the book guy. anyways, there is a new movie coming out about him. let's cross our fingers and hope it doesn't suck

THE HOAX

must see on imax

300

this upcoming wednesday i'm going to go see a sneek peek of THE LIVES OF OTHERS

this film has been getting a decent amount of press.

it was nominated for the most awarms in german film history.

thus far it has gone 5 of 9 in the category of best film. it is also nominated for best foreign language film at the oscar's.

the film makes its american debut on friday.

THE TRAILER FOR THE FILM(which i haven't watched and won't...i enjoy the surprise)

Thursday, February 01, 2007

been doing some skiing. vail was incredible. lots of black diamonds and lots of things not broken. praise the lord. hope to go back this weekend.

tom, nigel, and myself on the way there:

a couple nights before, did some sledding with these fine fellows.
tony on left, ryan on right:

padre, here is the crack in my windshield.

i had been devoting lots of my time to grey's anatomy. having people call me mcdreamy peaked my interest. i enjoyed the show. it is nice to just sit and watch something while having my dinner, but now all i can do is crave season 3 on dvd. DAG YO!!!

the next movies i will be watching are as follows:
1. THE FRENCH CONNECTION
2. BATTLE ROYALE
3. BEFORE SUNSET

also, i watched the devil's playground. it was very interesting, though not life changing. i'd like to know more, but i think my current knowledge will suffice for the time being.

i've been working on character development on the stories. lots of influences coming at me all the time. i'm really enjoying it.

i think i'm going to start giving away the story piece by piece on here....we'll see

the first tidbit(though things might chance): the story centers around 3 characters, while focusing mainly on two

on a side note, will the snow ever stop?
it seems quite ironic that we went two years without it and now we can't go a week without it. maybe i should just enjoy it while i have it
