THE CREW ON HALLOWEEN:

(from l to r: ashley, florence, george, stephanie, samantha, pia(appearing only as legs), le le, and lauren)

THE WINDOW:

the school had a halloween party on friday, and ask for students to design windows.

the design crew:

(l to r: andrew and marilyn)

some competition:

(l to r: mike and george)

the finished design:

i was really pleased with the outcome, but we didn't take home any prizes.

the complement:

i happened upon some ladies taking photos with our window. if you look in the center, the white blur is one of the girls. maybe. camera phones are horrible.

ART TRIP:
on the 25th, i went to the DALI exhibit at LACMA with sam, ashley, and jamie. the exhibit has multiple paintings and 5 films(including my favorite, DESTINO). free quesodillas were also served. always a plus in my book.

the trip home:

EXTRA:
do we really need to be MORE DETACHED? i could go either way.

when i was younger, i used to think about how humans would evolve. THIS ARTICLE has some good ideas, though i don't agree with the longevity claims. then again, THESE CLAMS might help.

ms. katherine:
did you know about this PLACE?
it might be really gimmicky, but it still seems very interesting.

after having had my laptop for a little over a year, the battery is beginning to shows sign of constant use. it can be really aggravating when, in class, the computer only gives me a little over an hours worth of time to type notes and use the internet. THIS WILL BE A GLORIOUS REPLACEMENT.

get your LAST SUPPER fix. the image is 16 billions pixels. in comparison, most of my photos are right underneath 5 million.

how did THIS HAPPEN? congrats to mcauley. still doing big things.

LOVE AND PATIENCE.

SHELVING:

my room is beginning to finally take shape. the shelving is (obviously) up, the bedside table has been purchased, and the only thing left to get is a tray to hold the laptop.

GOOD(SMART) DESIGN:

this is exactly what design should do, make the user think. too much of life just passes by without a second thought and simple changes like this can make people realize they can do something to help. this design, produced by saatchi & saatchi for the world wildlife fund, integrates incredible presentation and care. i want more like this.

FIRSTS:

anyone who really knows me understands that cheese is 164% of my diet. last night, i had none. also, i had shrimp for the first time in my life. it was very good.

PERSON YOU NEED TO KNOW:
meet ZACH CONDON.

zach is a 21 year old from new mexico. he does incredible things and creates beautiful songs. most of his songs appear very european, and rightfully so because he studies it well.

postcards from italy:

elephant gun from the show:

elephant gun was really the song of the summer of 2007. i think joy and dan would agree.

click to listen to his WHOLE NEW ALBUM.
then click on each picture to get a different song.

BLAMING THE PARENTS:
i've always had the problem of being a picky eater, and since it is always easier to blame someone else. THIS ARTICLE makes it much easier.

A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING:

i never see my name on anything. ever. except this. now.

NOTHING FROM NOTHING LEAVES NOTHING.

THE WEATHER:

OLDER BITS:
i completed a panorama piece while still in colorado; though, i don't think i ever posted it.
somewhere around 20 photos ended up being molded to look like one seamless image.

the beginning:

the final:

THE SCIENCE OF PHOTOSHOP:

after two years spent toiling in an art school, i've realized how big photoshop really is.

THIS LITTLE NUGGET was huge. it really makes me wonder how much news is really doctored. as if there wasn't enough violence, they must add a little more death to make the photos interesting. no wonder people are afraid to leave their doors unlocked.

now they actually have computers that check for alterations within a photo. they go over algorithms within the photograph. find out more HERE.

THE HUMMINGBIRDS:
i'd assume that most of the hummingbirds have gone. although, i'd assume it is no consolation, padre, here is a video i took while home for the summer. i hope it can hold you over until next season.
