UNICORNS: after lots of time and a COUPLEGLIMPSES, i've completed my project. in the illustration elective i took this semester, we were required to create a book. the book i chose to create is called UNICORNS HAVING FUN. i've always thought unicorns were a slightly underexploited, humorous creature.
COMBING HIS MOUSTACHE:
TAKING LONG WALKS ON THE BEACH:
APPEARING IN A RAP VIDEO:
GETTING NAILS DONE:
MY PERSONAL FAVORITE, RIDING A HORSE IN A MEADOW:
that's the whole show for now, but there shall be more to come.
SCHOOL WORK: for my connections through color and design course, we took a trip to a local elementary school and took information on the children and their surroundings. after our visit, we were presented with the challenge of creating a poster that relates to the children. i chose to create a graph that represented the colors found within their room in relation to size and surface area of the objects.
PROJECT: a while back, i mentioned a project and was sparse on details. well.... for the most part, the project is completed. i've got a few more finishing touches to put on the project.
THE STORY: for the form and space course, we were given the project to create an extension of the body using the knowledge we had acquired from past projects. i chose to do an extension of the tongue, which you can see is the third from the top left. OUCH: VIEWER DODGER: GETTY GOING:
THE STORY: mike and i explored the GETTY MUSEUM for a modern art history paper. the complex is absolutely breathtaking. i didn't get to spend as much time as i'd like, but i hope to return someday soon to explore a little more thoroughly.
MIKE STUDYING ENSOR'S 'CHRIST'S ENTRY INTO BRUSSELS': EXTRA:
the show was primarily to debut bjork's new 3D video for her song, wanderlust, but i had many other reasons for going. primarily, geoff mcfetridge was screening a piece and i presumed he might talk following.
i ask out of class early and picked up my good friend, jamie. we got there right before 7, and came to see a line of about 400 people. i knew i had rsvp'd, but i wasn't sure if it would do anything.
flux really messed up the seating situation though. i understand rsvp doesn't mean getting a seat, but they should only reply to the first 100 to tell them they received a seat. the rest should be first come first serve.
eh, yeah... i was frustrated. oh well. if i could have gotten there earlier, i would have.
THE INCREDIBLE VIDEO(or see a higher quality version HERE):
the video took almost a year to do make and finish,i believe. you won't see something this polished again for a long time. elaborate music videos have really gone into a recession. this is absolutely beautiful though.
