HEARSAY, PT. TWO

NATURE:
i've continued my exploration of texture and type. this new set comes from images of nature, more specifically grass, bushes, leaves, shrubs, etc. with many of these new images, it became harder to show a clear difference between the type and the background. i attempted to differentiate the two with a few different techniques including hue, saturation, as well as tine and tone.

THE OZARK OFFERINGS:

with almost four full weeks of appreciation in joplin, i've returned to my city by the sea. being at home was wonderful. the parents are skipping, the city is growing, and the love is flowing. i consider myself very fortunate for the fine friends and family i have. thank you to everyone who made my trip one long smile.

SKULLS IN THE WATER:

STORY:
i was over at mr. graham's home working on a new(top-secret) project when we heard a knocking on the door. i went to the door and was surprised to see a younger fellow out of breath. as he slowly recovered he began to tell me how he thought he found a skull in a nearby stream. i, of course, followed him. a 1/4 of a mile away, the child began to lose his shoes and socks as he climbs into the creek. he wafts throught the water as he looks for the skull he had previously seen. upon finding it again, i hand him a stick to pull it out. he becomes too scared and we head back to the home.

HEARSAY.

DESIGN:
i've always loved words and textures. recently, after many years of photographing the skies, i decided it was time to bundle and use the work in some way. utilizing the photos, i created textures that evoked a feeling i felt comfortable staring at for longs periods of time. i'd seen some design recently that toyed with the process i'm employing here, but i haven't come across any that used this exact method. i'm very pleased with the results, but this is just the beginning. please enjoy.

THE WORDS:
my choice of words was very specific, and, yet, slightly random. some words i had loved my whole life, while others felt like they were evoked in the picture. besides, who doesn't love a good onomatopoeia once every blue moon?

AROUND:
if you plan on using these images, please let me know where, when, and how (maybe even why, if you dare). i find these types of things terribly interesting.
