A KISS FOR CARL JUNG:

(l to r: alice)

STORY:
here is my latest piece for the illustration communication studio, bring kissed by the kind ms. alice. we were asked to find an article of interest, then create a piece to go with it - similar to how editorial are handled. i chose an insightful article i found on the publication of CARL JUNG'S RED BOOK. after having a course on jungian psychology the semester before, it seemed like something i could really enjoy and take a personal investment in.

on tuesday evening, i went to the GRIZZLY BEAR/BEACH HOUSE concert. the rising action of losing my ticket somewhere in my room and the rush to get to the venue made for a nice climax of bodily swaying to some cloudy, saintly music.

STORY:

TALISMANIC.

THINGS FALL APART:
stop motion,letters,words,black and white,grid
(sorry about the awkward sizing issues, but ,if you wish to see it unobstructed, just click on the image)

STORY:
my EXPERIMENTAL TYPE COURSE had the class take on a stop motion project with the basis of a phrase that we would want to tell our past selves.

i wanted to tell myself that things fall apart, but it's okay. you can learn from everything; though, it times it can be hard to swallow.

DAUBING EVERYWHERE.

FROM A FORTUNE:

STORY:
everyone was given a fortune. i received "you're adventuresome and like to try new things." this is my outcome over the 3 hour period.

========================================

PATTERN:

STORY:
for the illustration comm. study, we are asked to do a drawing based on a word of the week, which is given to us. for this, i wanted to explore a technique i had attempted this summer; i used the computer to draw the main parts, then came in with a pen for the final touches.

STORY:

EXPLORATION:

(l to r: george)

STORY:
it seems like this semesters over arching theme is about going somewhere we are uncomfortable. some are going in subject matter, and some are going in material. either way, we are all learning something about ourselves. i think it is time to pull away the layers. above, george experiences the joys of sculpey.
