DISAPPEARING ACT, DAY FOUR.

ALONE, FOR A MOMENT:

STORY:
i stepped away for a few hours to enjoy the area and walk around a bit. i ended up settling down near a bridge, so i followed it for a bit. i found a nice, large rock in the middle of the river to sketch from. i drew for an hour or two, then returned home. above, a photo from my exploration of the neighborhood.

A SEPARATE PLACE:

(l to r: john)

STORY:
when john and i left the cabin, my intention was to show him where i had been drawing and, hopefully, have him draw the same thing. the plan quickly changed as we both opted to explore. initially, planning to following the stream, we began to head up the steep incline of the mountain.

INCLINED CLIMB:

STORY:
it was like this almost the whole, glorious way up.

ON TOP OF:

(l to r: john)

STORY:
as john and i climbed, we realized we were either getting nowhere or somewhere. we continued, with a small bit of intuition, up the mountain until we reached some large rocks protruding from the mountainside. we climbed them quickly, with large smiles on our faces and dry shoes.

OVER, UNDER, THROUGH:

ACROSS A STREAM:

STORY:
to cross to the other side of the stream, john and i had to shimmy across a fallen tree.

RESTING AND RECUPERATING:

(l to r: george and paul)

STORY:
john and i returned to a cabin full of lulled boys. here, they communicate this with their poses.

DINNER BY DEEP FRY:

(l to r: george[green jacket])

STORY:
on our last night, which also happened to be st. patrick's day, we decided to go out to get food. after first walking to a place that was closed, we drove to our last hope - the general store/diner a few minutes away. we planned to eat off the menu, but the cook had other plans; he wanted us to eat the corned beef and cabbage. we had different plans. we settled for him turning on one deep fryer and our bodies hurt for it later.

ONE LAST HUZZAH HURRAH:

(l to r: rob)

STORY:
we collected ourselves and our energy for one last enjoyable evening on the mountainside.
