MERRY HAPPY EVERYTHING.

THE CARD:

STORY:
this image fronts my family's christmas card. we've been sending them out since i was born, and they are a tradition i've really come to enjoy exploring on an annual basis.

this year, i was trying to use typographic mainstays, like the the question mark and exclamation point, to play off the symbols of winter.

the design is supposed to read in two different ways. up close, the typographic punctuation is convoluted by the other winter drawings. from far away, as the drawings become less obvious, the punctuation is much more legible.

it is intended to read: ? (the birth of christ) ! !

i've heard other interpretations, and i've liked them all. there is no right or wrong way to view it, i just hope there is enough to make the viewer consider it, and then reconsider it.

EXTRA:
EVERY XMAS CARD SINCE I WAS 3
